Your journal entries are encrypted before they are backed up to the cloud, so our database stores encrypted data instead of readable journal entries. Without your encryption password or recovery phrase, no one, including DeepJournal, can read what you wrote.

DeepJournal uses quantum-resistant cryptography designed to keep your journal secure against attacks from both classical and future quantum computers.
Your journal stays private on your device.
Your local journal database is encrypted and protected by your DeepJournal password. When DeepJournal is locked, someone with access to your computer still cannot open or read your journal.
AI cannot retain your data.
Your journal is encrypted directly to a verified hardware enclave. The keys never leave it, so DeepJournal, the AI provider, and the underlying cloud infrastructure cannot read your prompts or responses. The enclave is stateless, so this content is never stored or used for training.
