Your journal entries are encrypted before they sync, so our database holds encrypted text—not readable journal entries. Without your encryption password or recovery phrase, no one, including DeepJournal, can read what you wrote.
Your journal stays protected.
Your local journal database stays encrypted on your device. If your journal is locked, a copied database file cannot be read without your encryption password or recovery phrase.
AI cannot retain your data.
Your journal is encrypted directly to a verified hardware enclave. The keys never leave it, so neither DeepJournal, the AI provider, nor its cloud infrastructure can read your prompt or response. The enclave is stateless: this content is never stored or used for training.
