Look back on the patterns, moments, and threads that shaped a period of your life.
What is Synthesis?
Synthesis is a retrospective built from the Moments and Threads DeepJournal has already analyzed.
It helps you look beyond individual entries to see the patterns, relationships, projects, and themes that developed over a selected period.
Choose a period
You can view a synthesis for:
- Lately, which covers the most recent 30 days
- A completed month
- A year
- All time
The current month is available once it is complete. This keeps a monthly synthesis focused on the full period rather than a partial month.
When a synthesis is available
Synthesis needs analyzed Moments in the selected period. If DeepJournal has not found any yet, there is nothing to summarize for that period.
Synthesis runs in the background. It may stay queued while entry analysis finishes, and it needs the app to be able to complete its AI processing.
Keeping it current
When new analysis changes the Moments or Threads that belong to a period, DeepJournal updates the relevant synthesis in the background. This lets the retrospective reflect your journal as it develops over time.
